vivdunstan: Photo of some of my books (reading)
I know I’m in a privileged position to be able to read for comfort at the moment. But it’s still a tricky choice. The Lord of the Rings is my favourite book series, but reading about a dark shadow reaching out from the east feels a bit close. I may go with classic children’s literature. Or possibly the Sherlock Holmes canon.

Got our 2022 Scottish census letter today. I’ll fill it out online when more awake. It does feel odd as a genealogist not to have our census in a year ending 1, but erm Covid. And yes I am reminded again of 21 years ago when we moved into a new build house in Broughty Ferry and I had to phone up the Scottish GRO in Edinburgh to get a census schedule to complete. The builders had assured the person dropping off the forms that there was no way anyone would be in that house on census day …

Managed a brief accordion practice and work on my new accordion arrangement of the Ukraine national anthem. Still have to sort the entire middle portion, but really happy with how the opening and final parts are sounding. Nice harmonies that I find comfortable to play. It’s a nice tune. That’s my usual sheet music editing arrangement, with my Pelikan M200 propped up. I find this fountain pen sturdy for using around the sheet music stand, and not eg a problem if it falls off. The EF nib also works well on the printout paper for noting extra harmonies and chord changes.
