Starting the day looking up siblings of my g-granny from Dublin in the newly released 1926 Irish census. Having to check some more BMD certs (fortunately mostly available online, free, for this period for the Republic of Ireland) to verify addresses. But finding most folks sought.

Got our 2022 Scottish census letter today. I’ll fill it out online when more awake. It does feel odd as a genealogist not to have our census in a year ending 1, but erm Covid. And yes I am reminded again of 21 years ago when we moved into a new build house in Broughty Ferry and I had to phone up the Scottish GRO in Edinburgh to get a census schedule to complete. The builders had assured the person dropping off the forms that there was no way anyone would be in that house on census day …
