1990 Bursary

Checking new content on the British Newspaper Archive. As well as adding the St Andrews Citizen in 1991 they've added the Southern Reporter for 1990-1992. And crikey, here's me in the latter, for that bursary I won at St Andrews University. From the Southern Reporter newspaper, 22 November 1990. I also have much clearer photos from the reception at the principal's house.

I saw that more Southern Reporters were being uploaded overnight. I've looked at 1992 and I've bookmarked its version of the sale of the Alnwick Advertiser and Morpeth Herald for my newspaper sales and mergers folder - there are a number of good examples from the Tweeddale Press Group.

I only check every few months, so it was lucky I was checking at the right time to spot the extra Southern Reporters. I'm amused at how much my Mum got my news into there, even after we'd all moved to St Andrews. Also amused at the editor/journalist probably failing to read her handwriting one time, and printing my auntie's name (mentioned in the article about me) as Edna not Elma!
