Doctor Who: Dot and Bubble

Very powerful episode. The message was possibly too subtly done. I’m now explaining things that Martin had missed. But yes, a thought provoking episode, including tackling an issue that I had thought more likely to be addressed in a different context. And yes, this was very much a Black Mirror episode of Doctor Who.

Now watching Doctor Who Unleashed, and astonished that the first thing of Doctor Who that Ncuti Gatwa filmed was the closing scene of tonight’s Dot and Bubble episode. He was fantastic, and that was such a powerful scene.

Perhaps Gatwa's best scene since those. opposite Tennant during The Giggle. I'm not sure the episode landed as well as it might have done, but it was utterly damning of Finetime's all-too-pale society

I scored it 9/10 overall, due in part to the ending and also the message, but also due to the impressive scifi storytelling. And while I regret immensely that we have had so many Doctor-lite episodes in such a short season, this one was very effective. Of course so was last week's.
