Booking a table for breakfast tomorrow after my yearly haircut. "Did you say Dunsinane?" Hahaha! That would be a first. We'll see how our name is written on the sign tomorrow 😜

Usually we get Dustin, Dunstone or especially Duncan. We often joke we should change our surname to the last for an easier life ...

Dunstan is a Cornish surname mainly, though it's also strongly associated with Somerset, especially with St Dunstan from Glastonbury. It's also a name I knew as a child in Melrose, with St Dunstan's an area there.

Watching Paul Murton follow the River Dee, and thinking some of the Aberdeenshire folk sound awfully like Scottish Borderers! A uni classmate of mine at Dundee used to think my accent sounded as though I was from Brechin or somewhere up there. Nice to hear folk who sound β€œlocal” for me anyway. My accent is a mix of Edinburgh like / Borders cross, and a much stronger version which comes out the more puggled I am or if talking to eg my Mum! The Hawick part can come out really strongly then. Plus perhaps an added Somerset twang thanks to 30 years marriage 😜

Today's brief awake time during the day despite neuro illness saw me tackle a couple of piles. More stuff sorted out. Things put away properly, things brought out for attention (including some books to read). Also things to go to charity shops including lots of Dandie Dinmont Terrier club magazines.

Re Dandie Dinmont Terrier dogs my gggg-granddad in the Scottish Borders was a pioneering early breeder. I recorded a video talk about him some years ago. I'll give a link to it here. My husband also grew up with Dandies next door in rural southeast Somerset.
