vivdunstan: V60 switch coffee maker brewing coffee (coffee)

Got a whizzy new one shot grinder for my coffee. It’s taken a little dialling in to get to the right grind level, but it’s a great flavour now. It will grind to espresso fineness, but for now we’re mainly using it for Hario Switch V60 immersion/drip combo. Which needs a much less fine grind level. But it does that too. This will mean I can enjoy fresher tastier coffee at home, that also keeps fresher for longer.

I used to use a blade grinder (still have it in a cupboard) but gave in and bought a burr grinder which allows for adjustment for fineness. I keep looking at espresso machines, but not until I've got a new job (seven years and pending on insecurity, sigh), so it sits permanently on a cafetiere setting. The beans live in the freezer.

I got the freezer tip for coffee from Andrew Paterson, another StA CS alumnus who I knew through the gaming and SF groups there.

When we were in Edinburgh before $MOTHER's funeral in 2016, we met up with Andrew there (he was weekly commuting to Edinburgh for work at that point) and then again in St Andrews at the weekend.
