Rewatching Doctor Who: The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang vs The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon

This is going to include spoilers for these episodes and later in season 6. So I'm going to put it in spoiler space.

I'm rewatching the Matt Smith era, and it was a delight to get to these stories. Both are strong pairs. The first pair - the last episodes of season 5 - won the Hugo award. But the second pair - the start of season 6 - are even stronger stories for me, and I thought I'd write a few words about why I think that.

Sadly the next story in season 6 is a real clunker for me. But I'm looking forward to following the series as a whole. It's been a delight to revisit the Matt Smith era. Though it can take me longer to get through some episodes.

Current reading: The Box of Delights play script book

Tonight's reading. I may not be able to get to Stratford-upon-Avon to see the current RSC theatre production of The Box of Delights. But I can read the play script book!

Spoiler free at last (Doctor Who)

Finally been able to show Martin again the Mastermind question in January about Doctor Who that left me reeling, and that he answered correctly then and still didn’t take in key new info! Enjoyed the episode, though didn’t like one element as expected. But yes, feeling very relieved now re spoilers. And I’ve just filled him in on the Edinburgh, Fife, Dundee and Broughty Ferry links of a certain actor.

I will post more in depth thoughts about tonight’s episode later.
