Going into spoilers for this one ...
This story sees Benny and Jason caught up on a planetoid whose sole purpose is to generate trashy holovid entertainment. Think Doctor Who's Satellite Five but on a much bigger and trashier scale.
And then it gets taken over by a sort of AI, turning the inhabitants who are also the performers into mindless zombies. The only solution in the end is for Benny to do the worst thing she can imagine ...
This was a clever idea, neatly executed. But I found it difficult to listen to. Much of the episode is listening to snippets from trashy extreme programmes, and they're just not the sort of thing I would choose to listen to. I liked following Benny and Jason's investigation. But I honestly just wanted it to end.
And yes, what Benny has to do in the end, was really bad. And I wanted that to end too!
So I suppose it definitely achieved its aims. And was to be fair a clever bit of scifi. But I don't ever want to listen to it again.
