That sounds like a summary of (most of) the Rathbone modern-dress stories: not faithful -- where they even claim to be based on Conan Doyle plots! -- but lively and interesting, and pretty close in spirit if not in the detail. Holmes as he might have been had he lived in the 1940s, as it were.
