Chronicles of Amber series

Bought myself a newly published 5-book Kindle omnibus of Chronicles of Amber books by Roger Zelazny. I’ve wanted to read these fantasy books for years, but had to wait for the ebook versions to come, so I could read with the utterly gigantic font my neuro illness needs. Looking forward to it! There’s another omnibus Amber ebook collection coming out later this year.

Despite its age, Amber remains a very interesting version of the multiverse. Have you read The Invisible Library series (I've noted my reading of it recently). I think the IL series definitely owes quite a debt to Amber.

Yes we've discussed the Invisible Library series here before. I've read the first one, am interested in reading some more, and will be getting back to them sometime soon.

Incidentally I have returned to Expanse book 1, last night getting from 57% through to 65% through. Going to have another read tonight. Skipping loads ;) Still not exactly a fan, but seeing if I can finish it.

The latter IL books become even more Amber influenced. Not "rip off territory" by any means but noticing the relationship added to my enjoyment of them. if you've not actually read Amber before I recommend reading them before going on with the IL series.

I think you'll find, if you can be bothered with it, that Expanse Bk 2 is much more readable (though caveats about the plot of Bk 3 as I've mentioned before).

Many thanks. Yes i should be reading the first 5 Amber books before IL 2.

I think it is phenomenally unlikely I will read Expanse book 2, though I now expect to finish book 1.
