Festive good wishes

Sending early Christmas and Happy New Year wishes to our friends and family. We will be having a very quiet and restful holiday period. Martin is on holiday for two weeks after today, and will be mainly resting. Hope you have a good time too. The picture is "The Shortening Winter's Day is near a Close" painted by Joseph Farquharson. We have had a large framed print of this since the late 1990s, bought from a glazier in Bonnygate, Cupar. It is currently up on our main wall in the sitting room, and very much enjoyed.

That is a gorgeous painting.

LOL but I know that feel, I've been out many a day trying to finish chores before the sun sets. Currently it gets dark around 4:30 PM. Yesterday we were scrambling to clear space to plant the hollies that we put out for Midwinter tonight. This is the nadir though. It'll start getting lighter longer after the solstice.

It's been getting dark here around 3.30PM. I love the winter, but will equally be glad when we have some more hours of daylight! I really like the pink twilight glow in the painting. It's one I've seen many times in Cupar where we bought our framed print.

No wonder you're tired of it. I love winter too, but the lack of daylight makes it hard to accomplish anything outdoors.

Merry Christmas. I still have a bunch of marking I want to complete before I can start my holiday. Not off yo a great start today as $DAUGHTER should be at her next to last day in school but is off with a really bad cold so I had to take her to the clinic.

Best wishes to Martin. I hope the rest helps him improve the long CoViD. Also hoping your neuro-flare doesn't interfere with your quite festivities too much.

Christmas is delay for us due to $WIFE's work schedule. We'll be doing Christmas dinner on Saturday.

Thank you, and merry Christmas to your family too :) Martin I'm pleased to say seems to be taking a total break. He's not always the best at that, but I think pretty stressful recent weeks of work on his various projects means that he knows he just needs to rest now while he can. The Long Covid is ongoing, but mainly hitting him badly later in each working week. He will definitely benefit from recuperation. My neuro flare is a very big problem. And why I have such modest hopes for the next fortnight! But will be happy to enjoy lazy long evenings with Martin. I expect to wake on Christmas Day after 4pm!
