Rewatching Doctor Who: The God Complex

Just got to this episode, in my Matt Smith era rewatch. And it's amazing just how much I didn't remember about this. I remembered a hotel of rooms and corridors, and I remembered the ending on Earth. But other than that? Nope, zilch. However it's a strong episode, an intriguing concept, even if it feels a bit like the ideas were stretched too far and a bit repetitively. There was also another might-have-been-great-companion in Rita. The deaths are brutal here. Given it's also seemingly farewell to the Ponds (but ...) I wonder what my thoughts on first watch were, about what was coming. Oh and I'd completely forgotten that we saw young Amelia again. I just seem to have a near total memory blank re this one!

Steven Moffat has a memory block about it too, given that he pitched the storyline a couple of years ago to RTD, who had to remind him that this was an episode he had actually made...!
