Sean Pertwee apparently does a good impression of his Dad. Has BF used him?

Nope. They had Frazer Hines doing the 2nd doc for a long time. I think they may also briefly have tried David Troughton too.

As for the 3rd doc the recast actor playing him is Tim Treloar who I think is fine. Close enough in voice and generally a strong acting performance.
