Neil Gaiman and the sexual assault allegations

I haven't posted about this publicly before. Mainly because I don't know what to say, and I'm still trying to process it. And I haven't felt that I can contribute to the discussion. Google it if you need to know more. Be warned the details are potentially highly triggering and distressing.

However at best I think there is a serious question mark over any perception of consent. Assuming consent in the circumstances described - hugely skewed in terms of age, power, and employer/employee relations, is highly questionable, and I think untenable. At worst it's potentially criminal sexual assault.

For now I am looking at his books and comics from a very wary distance. Including my recently personally signed and dedicated book.

I will be very surprised if one of his TV series continues, and am doubtful for the other two.

Just currently really disappointed.

Glasgow Worldcon programme

Browsing the Glasgow Worldcon programme, which has finally been released. We are not going to be there in person as hoped, because of how ill I am now. But they are offering a lot of streamed and recorded for later talks. So I will get to see masses. I am now going through the programme to mark up those of interest. Thank goodness for the recordings, because I have multiple time clashes already!

Big Finish car crash continued

Calculating how much space I need to download all my Big Finish audios (DRM free MP3 files and another format), at least those that I can get at. Many are still "unavailable for download", though I hope some will come up soon. The new website remains a mess. Even Chimes of Midnight is currently unavailable to download. I reckon at a hand waving calculation I can fit my 700-ish audios in half a terabyte of disk space. So I can get them onto my laptop initially, which has more than that free. And then plonk them in my NAS diskstation and also get another external drive. But this is not good. I have downloaded many audios before, but haven't worried so much until now. Though I should. But the new website and new app are a car crash. I think Big Finish have done themselves enormous harm with this move. And I wouldn't be surprised if they don't ride it out long term.
