Big Finish are generally handling it with either mind wipes / forgetfulness, or the Doctor not learning River's name, especially if encountering her at a remote distance or over comms. There was a variant approach taken with the Fourth Doctor, which worked really well, and I won't go into for spoiler reasons. But was wonderful to hear.
