We were at the last Glasgow Worldcon for a one day flying visit. I was using my wheelchair, and Martin parked me in the room where Rob Shearman was going to discuss a viewing of “Dalek”. Plus Terry Pratchett, Juliet McKenna and others talking about evil elves. Martin then dashed off and rejoined me later.

I made it to the more recent London, Helsinki and Dublin Worldcons. But otherwise I just am a supporting member usually if anything. I had hoped to get to Glasgow this time, but I’m way too ill now.

A big advantage of at least a supporting membership is you get downloadable access to the Hugo voter packets, including usually nearly all the shortlisted written works and often many others too. That is to help members decide who to vote for.

So even though I can no longer attend events in person I can still take part. Recent Worldcons also offer online membership with streaming. Glasgow is doing that, though I’m hanging on to my very reduced cost attending membership just in case we manage a flying one day visit.
